PRI launches comprehensive range of power quality meters

An extended range of panel mounted meters for measuring the quality of electrical power has been introduced by PRI. The models in the Series 400 range are ideal for monitoring power supplies in commercial and industrial applications such as offices and factories.

The compact meters all have large three-line or graphical LCD displays, and offer a comprehensive range of measurement and power analysis functions as well as a variety of communications options.

The EC401 series is ideal for switchgear manufacturers or building energy management system manufacturers and suppliers. The ultra compact DIN 96 meters can be used in low profile panel boards without having to compromise functionality. RS485 Modbus and Profibus options are available, and harmonic monitoring is available on most models.

Models in the EC416 series offer dramatically reduced costs and simple installation. Their comprehensive functions include energy metering, power quality analysis and demand control, making them particularly suitable for industrial applications.

The EC420 series provides harmonic monitoring as well as power interruption detection and capture. Some models are Web-enabled and others have digital inputs as well as a PT100 temperature probe input, making them ideal for industrial process control applications.

Particularly useful in critical applications such as financial institutions where downtime due to poor power quality can be disastrous, the advanced EC430 offers power quality analysis to the European standard EN50160. With a wide range of interfacing options including an embedded web server for low cost Ethernet communications, this cost-effective unit offers analysis to the 50th harmonic, neutral current measurement and continuous recording of current and voltage.

Meters with communications facilities are all supplied with software for meter configuration and data reading. This enables users to communicate either locally or remotely with a single device using a variety of interfaces. A professional version of the software is available where many meters need to be networked together.
