EGS Appoints Steve Beebe As UK Sales Director to Spearhead Growth for Public Sector eProcurement Solutions
Europe’s Most Successful e-Procurement Exchange Recruits Public Sector eProcurement Specialist to Scale for Next Phase of Accelerated Growth
EGS Ltd, the UK’s largest and fastest growing ecommerce Exchange for the public sector and its suppliers, today announced the appointment of Steve Beebe as UK Sales Director. Steve will spearhead sales of EGS’ solutions to public sector customers throughout the UK. With more than fifty percent market share, customer demand for EGS’ eProcurement solutions is at an all time high with customer transactions in its electronic trading xchanges now surpassing 250,000 purchases per year.
Steve brings almost 30 years of IT sales and sales management experience to EGS, and has an in-depth understanding of both the public sector as well as the eProcurement market. He joins EGS from Infor, an Enterprise Asset Performance and eProcurement provider, where he was responsible for successfully driving sales in both the public sector, as well as the oil and gas market. Prior to Infor he spent three years with Ariba, selling highly complex purchase to pay solutions to Fortune 1000 companies and Local Authorities, exceeding revenues targets, creating a highly successful track record. Throughout his sales career, Steve has consistently met and exceeded revenue targets. He has held sales and sales management positions with companies such as esourcing and data analysis specialist, FreeMarkets Ltd, as well as engineering solutions provider, Instron.
“Steve brings senior sales management experience, a highly successful track record of over achievement, as well as deep sector expertise of successfully selling eProcurement solutions into the UK Public Sector,” said Ian Busby, Chief Executive Officer of EGS Ltd. “Customer demand for our solutions is higher than ever, and Steve’s experience and insight are a perfect match to help us harness demand for the next stage of our accelerated growth. We look forward to his contribution to the EGS team.”
EGS is now the most successful public sector e-Procurement Exchange in Europe. EGS has seen a record 500% growth in the past two years alone, fuelled by demand for its automated end-to-end pay to purchase processes, which are now used by more than 150 buying organisations across the public sector, more than 30,000 suppliers, as well as the majority of the major public
purchasing consortia. There's £100 billion of e-procureable spend in the UK public sector every year. The combined efficiencies of business process cost savings and e-procurement cost savings delivered by EGS have the potential to save the public purse well over £1 billion per annum.
Based at the company’s London headquarters, Steve will report directly to Ian Busby, Chief Executive Officer of EGS Ltd.
EGS’ e-Procurement solutions and e-Invoicing solutions for both supply-side and buy-side efficiencies provide an end-to-end transaction process, and EGS is the only coherent, complete lifecycle solution available on the market today. EGS focuses its business around four major
Exchanges: the IDeA:marketplace for Local Government, the Bluelight Marketplace for Police and Emergency Services, Parabilis for universities the higher education sector and Unity for the further education sector. With almost one million online catalog items, the largest available in the market, EGS Exchanges also have the potential to reduce the unit price of goods
and services by as much as 30 per cent.
