Northgate to provide managed services to educational institutions under Becta Infrastructure Services Framework agreement

Northgate Information Solutions has today been awarded a three year framework agreement for the provision of a range of managed infrastructure services to educational institutions under the Infrastructure Services Framework by Becta.

The framework provides a common approach to purchasing ICT services such as those provided by Northgate. It allows educational institutions to:

•benefit from a teacher- and pupil-centred approach and improved reliability in Learning Platform services, allowing institutions to focus on teaching and learning in line with national strategies;
•buy high quality, value-added and affordable ICT services from approved suppliers that have been assessed and confirmed as meeting Becta’s Functional and Technical specifications;
•achieve value for money through shared purchases and requirements with other schools rather than negotiating separately with suppliers;
•benefit from flexible solutions tailored to their local needs and circumstances.

Although the full range of managed services can be purchased as a complete Learning Platform, educational institutions can also purchase individual services which can be integrated with existing ones, so as to protect previous investment.
