‘Paint your own PJs' is this year's must have Christmas gift for children

New children’s nightwear company Pixiedixie to showcase products at Spirit of Christmas Fair, 1 – 5 November, Olympia

31 October 2006 – Looking for a different Christmas gift idea for children? Pixiedixie, a new children’s nightwear company, has launched a range of ‘classic pyjamas with a twist’, including a ‘Paint your own PJs’ set that will get children excited about bedtime. Pixiedixie will be showcasing its new range at the Spirit of Christmas Fair at Olympia from 1 to 5 November 2006 at stand A138.

The ‘Paint your own PJs’ set includes high quality white cotton pyjamas and four different coloured fabric paints, brush and instructions. Suitable for use by children from the age of five – although younger children can use them too if supervised – the PJs allow children to express their creativity and practise their design skills, great for slumber parties. The specially formulated paints mean they retain their colour after washing and drying.

"I've spent years buying nightwear for my nieces and Godchildren but have often struggled to find really great items. High quality, classic pyjamas that both style conscious mums and their children would equally like, are very hard to find," says Tina Higginson, founder and director of Pixiedixie. "We've created a range of nightwear for children from the age of 18 months to 10 years that mums will love and children will be desperate to get into. We expect the ‘Paint your own PJs’ to be a top seller this Christmas as there’s nothing like it on the market."

The nightwear has been designed in the UK to the highest specification and is manufactured in Europe using top quality, 100% woven cotton, interlock and woven jersey cotton.

Some of the favourite designs for boys include the Grenadier Guards, available in either soft jersey cotton with a red trim around the neckline or in 100% cotton woven fabric with a red piped cotton trim, button down pyjama top and bottoms with elasticated waist. Another firm favourite for boys is a mini version of daddy’s traditional PJs. Made from exceptionally soft woven cotton, the pyjamas come in blue herringbone weave with a red check, navy blue piped collar and pocket.

Girls will love the heart printed, ultra soft jersey cotton nightdress or PJs featuring red and rose printed hearts, peter pan pink piped collar, frilled cuff and hem. The nightdress also comes in a shaded lilac butterfly print with lilac piped collar, frilled cuff and hem. For those girly sleepovers, another option is the bubblegum pink 100% woven cotton PJ set with a white piped collar and pocket for those secret notes, featuring a button down top and bottoms with elasticated waist.

The Paint Your Own PJs are suitable for boys and girls, as are the plain white cotton PJs for those who like to keep things simple. The company is also selling a ‘Bedtime Stories’ gift pack which includes a pair of pyjamas or nightdress and a ‘Sounds Dreamy’ CD of bedtime stories that will soothe a child to sleep (suitable up to six years).
