Northgate appoints new head of Elections Solutions
Northgate Information Solutions, a leading provider of innovative technology solutions and services, today confirmed the appointment of Chris Lord as Elections Solutions Manager.
A consultant with over 20 years’ experience working with the public sector, Chris has been extensively involved in the delivery of Northgate’s solutions to its local government customers since joining the company in 1998.
Electoral administration officers are under increasing pressure to respond to changes in the democratic process and to meet the challenges and opportunities of new forms of voting. Northgate’s innovative solutions are designed to manage elections from beginning to end – registering elector information, managing the election itself and producing electoral registers.
Northgate currently administers electoral records for over 18 million registered voters, and Chris will now take the lead in recruiting additional members to the team and further developing the company’s work in meeting the needs of local authorities and their citizens within a modernised voting system.
His appointment follows the recent signing of over 80 contracts for postal vote identification systems by local authorities committed to eliminating fraud in postal voting and to modernising their electoral systems.
Russell Osborne, MD of Land & Property at Northgate Public Services, said today:
“I am delighted to announce Chris’s appointment as Elections Solutions Manager. He has extensive experience in electoral administration and is well-placed to lead on the development of our work in this strategic market. His first priority will be to expand the elections team, and I look forward to working with him as we develop new solutions to meet our clients’ future challenges.”
[Ends]
