UK Parents Hail Social Skills as the Main Benefit of Play
•Over 6000 UK parents have their say on the power of play
•Official Noddy website re-launched with downloads and interactive learning games
•Learn how Noddy can help in a child’s development with A Parent’s Guide to Noddy
A new survey out today conducted on the newly re-launched official Noddy website (www.noddy.com) asked over 6,000 UK parents what they felt were the main benefits of their child’s play. More than one in three (35 per cent) of adult respondents felt that social skills were the greatest benefit of children playing, followed by 27 per cent voting for confidence building as the next greatest benefit.
Commenting on the survey results, Jacqueline Harding, Director of Tomorrow’s Child, a recognised authority on child development, and contributor to A Parent’s Guide to Playing and Learning with Noddy said:
“Social skills are essential for a child’s development particularly so they are comfortable mixing with others, especially at nursery or pre-school. One way social skills can be enhanced is through interaction with book or TV characters. Learning from the life lessons that Noddy experiences, for example, gives young children confidence about the world around them, essential for forging friendships.”
The survey comes as the official Noddy website at www.noddy.com is re-launched. Register for free to receive exclusive games, a Noddy newsletter, a free “Make Way for Noddy” episode to watch online and half price subscription to more content.
Additionally, all registrants will be sent a free copy of the new A Parent’s Guide to Playing and Learning with Noddy, a booklet full of educational games and useful information to show how engaging with Noddy can help with a child’s development.
