UNIVERSITY COLLEGE BIRMINGHAM PHONES A FRIEND…
A Birmingham college is to have a new state of the art telephone training system thanks to a local computer based Telecoms Company…
Interactive Telecoms, based in Birmingham’s Jewellery quarter have presented University College Birmingham (formerly the College of Food Tourism and Creative Studies) with a new state of the art telecoms server designed by CISCO Systems and worth over £5,000.
The presentation of the server is part of a major project by Interactive Telecoms to provide staff and students with the latest in telephone systems technology.
Interactive Telecoms’ MD is Margaret Brewer, who said,
“The world of telecoms systems is changing very rapidly and Interactive Telecoms is committed to help ensure that lecturers and students have hands on experience using the very latest technology.”
University College Birmingham is very local to us and we wanted to offer our support.

Rob Swinnock lecturer in Operations Management at UCB said,
“The telephone system will aid lecturers and staff at the College in developing an understanding as to how modern communications systems can be used to improve quality and productivity in service organisations. Students need to develop an awareness of the innovative skills, which industry and commerce require.
We are delighted to receive the latest in telephone systems technology which brings a double benefit of industry knowledge transfer to the classroom.”
The presentation of the new telephone training system took place during a day of special seminars organised for students by Interactive Telecoms and CISCO, which also featured the CISCO Technology Bus. The bus is packed with the latest state of the art Internet based telecoms equipment, including those designed for schools and colleges, as well as small and medium-sized companies.
