Tamagotchi Connexion: Toy of the Year
VIRTUALLY UNSTOPPABLE
Tamagotchi Connexion has been crowned top toy of 2005. Announced by the Toy Retailers Association at the annual Toy Awards, this accolade comes hot on the heels of Tamagotchi Connexion becoming last year’s top selling toy.
Tamagotchi Connexion, the current incarnation of the original virtual pet, has an infra-red function that allows children to connect with other Tamagotchi friends, play games and exchange gifts. Selling over 2 million pieces in the UK and 10 million worldwide, the toy has exceeded the popularity of the original that took the world by storm in 1997. A new version launching later this year is expected to bring the latest craze to fever pitch. Interactivity will reach a whole new level with the introduction of a fun, colourful ‘Tamagotchi Town’ on the internet.
