A level results - now what?

For some young people A level results are the end of their schooling although they have no idea of what they want to do next. University is not the answer for everyone, but many young people choose to attend simply because they are unsure of what their options are. However, there are lots of alternatives. This is why it is important that young people have the opportunity to talk to people already in jobs or that have businesses so that they can then make informed career choices.

Growing Ambitions offers a free match-making service to those people in business, employees, professionals or trades-people so that they can, when contacted by a local school or college donate ONE half hour ONCE to talk to young people and answer questions about their job.

Each half-hour session will make a significant difference to young people when they are deciding about the job they may like to do,” says Sally Davis, MD of Growing Ambitions

What to do

Simply follow the steps below. Then wait to be contacted. Remember signing up is once only. That’s all we ask.

Go to www.growingambitions.org
Click ‘Offer to Speak’, then click ‘Register’ and complete the form – it takes just a few minutes. Then we quickly verify your e-mail address.
Next, login at ‘Workplace login’ on the home page and, from your Account screen, click ‘Offer Slot’ and tick ‘Flexible’.

That’s it. A local school, college or university will contact you to arrange a suitable date and time. After your session, you can opt out.

To opt out:
Simply login to your Speaker Account and ‘untick’ your boxes. This makes your account ‘invisible’. At a later date you can login to your Speaker account and ‘re-tick’ for another session. You are able to do this as many times as you like.
