There's a new website for people interested in helping the environment and saving money called www.SnaffleUp.co.uk .
What's it all about?

SnaffleUp provides the opportunity for owners of unwanted but useful items to donate them instead of throwing them into overused landfill sites. According to the Local Government Association (LGA) the UK dumps more household waste into landfill than any other EU state. This amounts to more than 27 million tonnes of waste dumped in landfill each year.
Items no longer needed but believed to be useful can be added to SnaffleUp where other site users can view it and arrange collection. All items are offered for free and site users organise any collection or delivery costs between themselves.
SnaffleUp differs from similar sites such as Freecycle by offering a user friendly and constantly improving website. It is simple to find items of interest; quick to register; straightforward to add items and photos; and easy to manage.
SnaffleUp also has an ongoing website improvement policy focused around suggestions that can be voted for by all SnaffleUp users.
How does it work?

Visitors can search or browse items without registering, using a postcode to search items in the local area.
When a user wants to add an item or contact the current owner to arrange collection, they just need to complete a short and simple registration.
When looking for a specific item it is possible to set up e-mail alerts that inform users when items of interest have been added.
SnaffleUp was started by Chris Toynbee and Marc McIntyre who recognised a need for a user-friendly website to help save usable items from landfill.
