HYBRIS SETS ITS SIGHTS ON SME MARKET

...hybris and Tier2 Consulting to provide SMEs in the UK with cost-effective ecommerce solutions to address their strategic needs...

London, 30th October 2007: hybris, www.hybris.com, a leading product information management (PIM) and ecommerce vendor, and its premium partner Tier2 Consulting, www.tier2consulting.com, today announced its commitment to bringing SMEs in the UK online within 12 weeks, providing new small business users with a best of breed strategic solution that will help them to compete in the growing world of on-line business. The ‘e-swift’ solution will make it easy for retail outlets and manufacturers to quickly and cost-effectively implement online ecommerce to complement existing sales channels and will be configured and installed at a fixed price.

hybris is already recognised by retailers as a major player in the ecommerce and product information management (PIM) markets. Some of its customers include large corporates such as Virgin, Puma, Dangaard, IMI Norgren and Daimler Chrysler. This latest initiative will mean that smaller businesses can now benefit from an online solution that delivers all the centralised data management they need to conduct sales and order management online and maintain consistent customer interactions across all contact channels. In the UK, Healthy Direct and Digital Stores are already benefiting from hybris’ ecommerce solution.

Andrew Piscina, UK Country Manager at hybris, said: “We are very excited about expanding into the SME marketplace. We have identified an opportunity in the market and know that we can fill that gap with our technology and expertise to help smaller businesses benefit from our solutions. Our technology will give them the ability to make the best decisions which will have a positive impact on their bottom line. With Tier2 Consulting’s expertise in the SME space we are confident that we can bring something new and of value to the market.”

Online purchases are becoming increasingly popular; according to a 2006 study by Forrester, online commerce throughout Europe was expected to surpass the EUR 100 billion mark for the 1st time. With EUR 43 billion, the UK was the country with the highest 2006 sales.

Andrew Kennedy, MD of Tier2 Consulting, said: “The UK online market is growing and SMEs should not miss out on the business opportunities. We have collaborated with hybris to provide SMEs with an agile ecommerce solution that can be implemented quickly and efficiently at a price that SMEs can afford. At the same time, customers have access to a team of senior consultants who truly understand their small business needs and will work closely with them to provide a solution that works for them.”

NOTES TO EDITORS:

About hybris

hybris supplies standard software solutions for the media-independent management of product information and its distribution over both online and print channels.

Retailers, manufacturers and distributors consolidate and manage their entire product information in every language on one platform, in the process creating a “single source of truth”. Enterprises are able to supply online and print channels with information from this central hub. Integrated solutions for catalogue management, ecommerce, e-procurement and database publishing provide you with personalised and channel-specific data recycling throughout all electronic procurement and sales channels. This also means that print catalogues can be published without media fragmentation.

The hybris solution’s integrative approach to managing and recycling product information leads to a reduction in process costs, clearing the path for companies to add new sales and procurement markets at low cost. The return on investment with hybris is very fast. As hybris has selected to use standards-based and future-proof basic technologies in its solutions, investments are secure over the long term.

Established in 1997, the company is based in Munich and has offices in the UK, Benelux, Denmark and Switzerland, with over 1,000 customers worldwide.
