KIDS HAVE UNIQUE PLACE TO SIT THANKS TO TALENTED MUM
An entrepreneurial mum’s latest product for children will give them their own unique place to sit in the home.
Mum of one Helen Broadhead has this week launched sets of hand painted children’s table and chairs, on her website Gifts For Little People.
Each set is painted by hand to one of a number of themes – or can be custom-designed from scratch.
Designer and artist Helen was inspired to launch the sets by her own 18 month old son Joshua.
She said: “I made the 1st set as a present for Joshua's first Christmas and it’s hard to tear him away from his own little table and chairs.
“When my friends with children visited they asked where they could get their own set, especially when they found out each one is hand painted and therefore totally unique. It was a simple step to go from there to developing the sets ready to sell.”
There are a series of standard themes available, including farm animals, jungle animals, fairies teddies and rabbits. Each set is hand painted by Helen, so no two sets can be exactly the same.
Parents can also order a custom set designed from scratch round any theme.
Each table comes with two chairs. All of the furniture is made from solid birch with a plywood top, making it strong and sturdy. That’s ideal for playtime as well as meals.
The sets even come with free personalisation, where the child’s name and a special date can be added onto the rungs of the chairs. That makes them perfect gifts for birthdays or other special events.
Helen, who lives and runs her business in Leeds, added: “I’ve already sold quite a few on the website. Since I have to paint each set by hand, I have a feeling it’s going to be a very busy run-up to Christmas for me.”
