VINEXPO 2007 SHOWCASES THE KEY ROLE OF SALES AND PROMOTION WITH A NEW EMPHASIS ON MARKETING TECHNIQUES
London, February 8, 2007 – A new section called MARKETERS by VINEXPO to showcase the latest techniques for generating sales of wine and spirits will feature at the 14th VINEXPO exhibition – the world’s biggest wine and spirits fair - running from June 17-21, 2007 in Bordeaux. France.
Housed in the Bordeaux Convention Centre, covering over 2,600 sq metres, the new section will present systems and retail solutions for generating sales to consumers by supermarkets, wine retailers and restaurateurs. MARKETERS brings together exhibitors from around the world offering a wide gamut of retail techniques from point-of-sale, merchandising, communication and training to sales accessories, furnishings and fittings.
VINEXPO, held every two years, provides an international market place for wine and spirits buyers and sellers. MARKETERS targets top trade professionals whose skills and techniques in such areas as direct marketing, packaging and promotion are of key interest to the expected 50,000 visitors, among them wholesalers, retailers, supermarket buyers, distributors and importers.
VINEXPO recognises that better informed consumers are prepared to spend more for better wines, a development borne out by VINEXPO’S latest research* which revealed that sales of higher priced wine are rising fast.
VINEXPO forecasts that trading up to better quality wine will continue to 2010 when the UK will become Europe’s biggest retail market for wine with sales reaching £5.5 billion at rsp.
