GOOD VIBRATIONS FOR CHEEKY BRITS AS ADULT PURCHASES SOAR

Online sales of adult items have tripled as cheeky UK citizens look to ensure 2008 is a year to remember. 27% of 2155 people asked said they have or would be buying a gift of an adult nature online this year.

The UK’s largest shoppers’ revenge website has revealed that nearly 30% of cheeky UK citizens are looking to spice up the cold pre-summer evenings this year by purchasing a gift of an adult nature.

By looking at the most common searches that brought people to their site, MyVoucherCodes.co.uk found that sales of an adult nature had tripled when compared to this time last year.

The company decided to commission research into its existing client base to see if there was a reason behind the upsurge and found 27% of the 2155 people asked said that they were planning to buy an adult related gift this year and 34% of people said they had bought an adult toy in previous years.

MyVoucherCodes.co.uk was also able to identify the top three most searched for companies when it came to trying to find adult-product discounts and voucher codes and these were, in order, AnneSummers.co.uk, Love Honey.co.uk and BeCheeky.co.uk.

Speaking about the findings Mark Pearson, MyVoucherCodes.co.uk MD said,

“The web team started reporting an increase in web traffic looking for adult related products and shops so we decided it would be fun to ask our existing clients about the sudden increase so we could understand if we needed to amend our site accordingly. I admit to being a little bit shocked that nearly 30% of people have, or are planning to buy a naughty gift this year for themselves or a loved one”.

He continued, “It seems that the days of flowers and chocolates for your partners are making way for more X-rated and vibrating gifts”.

MyVoucherCodes.co.uk monitors and updates the new voucher and discount codes every day thanks to a combination of people sending them in to help other consumers and the site owner using technology to keep a watchful eye on the market place.

Over 5m people have now visited the website and around 150,000 people have signed up to the site newsletter that gives people a weekly breakdown of the best codes and the companies with the biggest discounts.
