Homewood Suites by Hilton opens Hotel in London, Ontario


Adding to an already impressive list of accomplishments for 2007, including the recent opening of the brand’s landmark 200th property, Homewood Suites by Hilton, the national brand of upscale, all-suite, residential-style hotels, has announced it is yet again increasing its international expansion with the opening of its sixth property in Canada, located in London, Ontario. The hotel is owned and managed by Manga Hotels Inc, based in Ontario.

The five-story, 106-suite Homewood Suites London, Ontario hotel is conveniently located in the center of London’s exciting business district and close to nearby White Oaks Mall – the largest in Southwestern Ontario. All suites have fully equipped kitchens, full sized refrigerators, microwave ovens, coffeemakers and two phones. Iron and ironing board and hair dryers are also standard in all rooms.

“With each new opening in Canada, Homewood Suites is expanding our exceptional standards and commitment to providing the best possible hotel experience for our guests on an international scale“, declared Rebecca Wyatt, senior vice president of brand management. “This has been a milestone year for us and we are especially excited about our continued Canadian development. In addition to the London opening, another Homewood Suites is scheduled to open in Cambridge, Ontario in the third quarter of this year.”

London, Ontario is a university town, home to the University of Western Ontario and is home to many stunning historic sites, theatres, provincial parks and beautiful freshwater beaches on Lake Erie and Huron – making it an ideal destination for students and leisure or business travelers.

The London, Ontario opening announcement comes in a year that has seen the launch of many new, exciting initiatives for the Homewood Suites brand including Suite Selection and Mobile Training with video iPods, as well as additional upcoming international development in Mexico. A recent Consumer Reports article also named the Homewood Suites brand among the best upscale hotels, a fitting example of Homewood’s dedication to outstanding customer service.
