Hen & Stag Night Party Bill Hits £100

British hens and stags pay a heavy price for the last night of freedom

•Price for hen and stag nights soars to £100.25 per person
•Alcohol accounts for a third of the total spend
•1 in 10 cheat on their partner during the last night of freedom

British hen and stag revellers are paying an average of £100.25 per person to celebrate the last night of freedom, according to a new survey published today (Tuesday 17 April 2007.)

The Hen and Stag Night Survey – for which 500 people were questioned – was conducted by www.HenNightHQ.co.uk and www.StagNightHQ.co.uk. Results reveal that each party is attended by an average of 15 people, pushing the total price per event to be £1503.75, rising to £3434.44 (or £228.96 per person) for a trip away. The highest expenditure is on alcohol, with partygoers dedicating over a third of their total spend to the bar tab.

Hens and stags also pay a heavy price in terms of fidelity. The survey shows that 1 in 10 cheat on their partners during their pre-nuptial celebrations, ranging from kisses for fun or as part of a challenge, to full blown one night stands. Forfeits also proved to be dangerous territory, with 2 in 10 admitting to stripping off either partially or fully in public as a result.

“Even if everyone at your party sticks to the rule of ‘what happens on the night stays on the night’, you still run the risk of embarrassing yourself or far worse if you take things too far,” says Ms Wilkinson. “It’s a much safer option to stock up on dares that are risqué rather than risky, or games that you can play with all your guests.”
