DAIMLERCHRYSLER CHOOSES HYBRIS TO DELIVER ON-LINE STORE
LONDON - 11 October 2006. DaimlerChrysler has opted for an ecommerce solution from hybris in a bid to redesign its online distribution channel for the merchandising products of its commercial vehicle collection. The hybris Commerce Suite allows all product information to be administered in a central location and fed into the connected shop for truck lifestyle products. This enables DaimlerChrysler to check and update information quickly – which cuts down the amount of time and effort required for data maintenance.
By logging on to www.shop.mercedes-benz.com, customers and commercial vehicle fans can now find out about the latest offering from the comfort of their own homes, select from numerous products and purchase model cars and fashion accessories 24/7. Over time, the hybris solution implemented by H2OMEDIA will also be used to replace the car collection store.
DaimlerChrysler sought a solution that was fast and easy to use. DaimlerChrysler opted for the hybris Commerce Suite as the best-practice solution to support all business initiatives; the solution is modern, flexible, can be presented in many languages and has low operating costs.
The solution is also future-proof and apart from technical support for the current web store, can offer the option of branching into other distribution channels – for instance, to supply the centrally administered product data for printed catalogues and brochures.
It took H2OMEDIA just two months to implement the hybris Commerce Suite and to adapt it to the existing environment at DaimlerChrysler. The ecommerce solution is connected to logistics and payment providers and, in the front end, offers various AJAX elements that allow the user-friendly aspect to be enhanced. DaimlerChrysler can monitor the success of the distribution strategy with the aid of website controlling solutions from ECONDA GmbH.
