£3m SAVED IN JUST 10 MONTHS THANKS TO SHOPPERS REVENGE WEBSITE

Leading UK discount and voucher code website MyVoucherCodes is celebrating having this week passed the £3m savings mark for it’s shoppers in only 10 months.

A leading UK based discount and voucher website business, formed by 26 year old entrepreneur Mark Pearson, is celebrating this week having seen the savings it has achieved for it’s customers pass through the £3m mark.

MyVoucherCodes was formed in January 2007 when Mark was trawling the web, finding codes and entering them onto his site and word immediately spread that if you wanted to make an online purchase his site could find you a discount code.

10 months on and visitors to the site have now spent over £30m on products from the shops listed and the unique visitor statistics stand at just under 3.5* million.

The owner of the site, Mark Pearson, formed the site having noticed the “enter discount/voucher code here” box at the checkout stage when he shopped online.

He decided to use search engines such as Google to see if he could find any discount codes but they were all stored on various obscure sites scattered around the internet and so he hit upon the idea of putting them all on one site.

The site has proved so popular that now some of the UK’s most well known high street retailers are pro-actively coming to Mark with codes and asking him to list them on his website.

Business data shows that over the last year the average discount has been 10% of the normal retail price and on the run up to Christmas the site expects this to increase.

Around 100,000 people have signed up to the site newsletter that gives people a weekly breakdown of the best codes and the companies with the biggest discounts.

MyVoucherCodes monitors and updates the new vouchers and discount codes every day thanks to a combination of people sending them in to help other consumers and the site owner using technology to keep a watchful eye on the market place.

Speaking about the success of the site Mark Pearson said,

“I have been overwhelmed by the success of the business so far and amazingly it has all happened in only 10 months. The site has opened up many new doors and opportunities both on a personal and business level and I am excited to see where we will be in 18 months time”.

He continued,
“The business success has meant I can do some of the things I have always wanted to do such as buy a house for my mum and take some time out to do a bit of travelling in a few years time”.
