EZGOV EUROPE NAMED AS FINALIST IN GOVERNMENT COMPUTING AWARDS 2007

London, 02 May 2007: EzGov Europe, the UK’s market leader in enabling successful e-government, has announced that it was one of the finalists in this year’s Government Computing Awards. Over 130 projects from 100 organisations were entered in to this year’s awards and EzGov Europe was shortlisted for the Best Project, Government to citizen for the Benefits Online Solution it has provided to the City of Edinburgh Council.
The system was developed by the Council in partnership with BT, EzGov and Comino plc and has been designed for Edinburgh residents to complete and track the progress of their Housing and Council Tax Benefit claims online, replacing a 28-page form that many customers found challenging. The new system gives the customer an immediate ‘ready reckoner’ of the amount of benefit they are likely to receive.
Steven Voss, Chair of the judging panel, said: “The entries this year mark a real change, with projects really delivering not only on innovation but real efficiency savings through some highly effective projects. They demonstrate the power of technology to help improve public services and EzGov should celebrate making it through to the final stages.”
